Nordic Walking, also known as ski walking, is an enhancement of ordinary walking with sticks or poles which are very similar to ski poles. It originated in Scandinavia but is now getting more and more popular here in the UK and is a fantastic way to lose weight, burning more than twice the calories of walking or jogging. It also utilises 80% of your muscles! > The use of poles means the upper body muscles are used as well as the legs and as the poles help to propel the walker along – this means he/she works harder than usual yet the support given by the poles makes it feel easier!
> Nordic Walking is an endurance exercise, very low impact and is often recommended by medical professionals for those with heart, knee or back problems. > It is suitable for both men and women of all ages. For more information on Nordic Walking or to book your FREE 1st session please contact me. |
