FEEDBACK - Sarah Knight. Ackworth. 18th February 2011- "My husband booked a free session with Liam 15 months ago now for us both and I must say I was dreading that first meeting, partly because I've never really classed any exercise as one of my interests and partly because I'd never heard of kettlebells and was afraid I would be weightlifting or not be able to keep up.  I couldn't have been more wrong on both parts because I thoroughly enjoyed the whole session and felt instantly comfortable with Liam's friendly yet professional attitude. We booked our first block and haven't looked back since! I personally have never kept any form of exercise up for so long and still enjoy it this much! And Liam still manages to keep it interesting and work out new routines while helping us both improve, I can't recommend him enough to anyone wanting to give it a go, it doesn't matter what your fitness level is, if I can do it anyone can! Thanks For everything so far Liam - Keep on swinging!"

Why use a Personal Trainer?

Some people are happy to follow their own training programme, in their own time and at their own pace and have the motivation to keep their training going even when times get tough. For others who lack the time and motivation or simply don't know where or how to get started - a Personal Trainer can be the answer.

Many people however find that training in a gym on their own can get boring and they end up doing the same old exercises week after week, without seeing any real results. Again a Personal Trainer could help. A good Personal Trainer will have an almost limitless range of different exercises and workouts along with expertise in several different training styles. They will offer constant support and encouragement, as well as ensuring that you get the most out of each and every session and that most importantly the sessions are enjoyable and safe.

How often should I train?

For most people 3 training sessions per week would be ideal and would guarantee that you start seeing results quickly. Whether you work out with a Personal Trainer every time though is completely up to you and a lot of my clients like to have 2 sessions per week with me and then 1 session on their own either in their gym or at home. Equally I have several clients who, due to the demands of work and family, just don't have the time to start planning their own training and for them 3 sessions per week with a Personal Trainer is better suited. They know that they can just turn up, or I will come to them, and I will have their weekly sessions planned for them.

What is a Personal Training session like?

I have now trained hundreds of clients, male and female, young and old and each and every client has had different needs and goals. There is certainly no typical Personal Training client, but the one thing that they do all have in common is a real desire to change.

Much as no two clients are the same, the training sessions and the journey that we take to get the results that each client is looking for, will also be different. This is one of the reasons why I offer a FREE first session and consultation. It gives you a chance to meet me, to see what training with me is like and, more importantly, to see if you will feel comfortable training with me. From my perspective, it gives me a chance to talk through your goals, to learn a bit about your current fitness, diet and lifestyle and to suggest options that I think would best suit your needs. You will spend a lot of time with your Trainer and you need to both feel comfortable and to both be absolutely clear as to what you are trying to achieve and how you are going to get there. If after the first FREE sesson you decide that Personal Training with me just isn't for you then that is absolutely fine, there is no obligation. Equally, there have been occasions where after the first FREE sesssion, I have realised that certain clients just would not fully benefit from training with me and I have instead suggested they may be better suited to a different style of exercise or training. A Personal Training programme requires absolute commitment from both parties if it is to be successful, and that can only work if everyone feels completely comfortable.

If you do decide to begin training with me, the first thing we will do (with your permission) is to measure your weight and body fat %. This will give us a bench mark against which to measure your progress and we will monitor your figures every 4 weeks. Your actual training sessions will be then be pre planned for you and will consist of a warm up, analysis of your food diary (if required), exercise instruction and technique practice, workout and finally a cool down and stretch. If you are training several times a week, I will have planned the content and balance of each of your sessions to ensure that you get the absolute maximum benefit from each session, without pushing so hard that you risk injury. Training with me is not easy, there are no short cuts - but I guarantee I will get results!  Click here to book your first FREE session and consultation.

FEEDBACK - Caroline Philipson. Featherstone. 13th June 2009 - "I have been training with Liam since around February 2008. Suzi and I started with the Kettlebell training which I have to say is one of the most challenging workouts I had ever undertaken. Kettlebells has become one of my true loves in life and some 18 months on we still train with him once to twice a week.

Liam is a very inspiring trainer and is always one step ahead coming to the sessions with different routines and, sometimes even different equipment so the sessions are always interesting.

As I travel for work and find it hard to maintain a routine in the week he also suggested running encouraging me to do my first 5 mile race last July. I now run regularly in between sessions and have the odd 5 and 10k booked in here and there - something I would never do without his encouragement and continuous support. It sounds corny but training with Liam has definitely changed my life and given me more confidence and all I can really say is a great big THANK YOU!"
